“On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Said, President of Zakho University, welcomed a high-level delegation led by His Excellency Omar Urii, head of Branch 8 of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. The visit aimed to convey congratulations and appreciation for the significant scientific achievements of Zakho University, which has earned a prominent position among the governmental universities of the Kurdistan Region. The delegation expressed their sincere admiration and recognition for the university leadership and community regarding these accomplishments.
Following the formal congratulations, an important meeting was held in which several key topics were discussed. Speeches highlighted the university’s strategic initiatives in advancing science and research, as well as its contributions to higher education.
His Excellency Omar Urii specifically expressed his hope that Zakho University will continue to prioritize and expand its scientific research efforts.
